Volume 4, Number 3 July/August 1996
NASA Tech Briefs, a monthly publication of available, commercially viable technologies developed by NASA, is celebrating its first two decades of publication. Debuted in 1976, more than 12,000 briefs have been published over the last 20 years, generating about 1.8 million requests for Technical Support Packages. Through privatization (beginning in 1985), the magazine's circulation has nearly tripled-from 75,000 to more than 207,000. Are you a subscriber to NASA Tech Briefs? If so, NASA Tech Briefs is holding a letter-writing contest for its readers to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Three grand winners will be named, but everyone who participates will be a winner.
To enter, write a letter of 500 words or less (including the number of years reading the magazine and your name, address and daytime phone number) describing how NASA Tech Briefs has affected your work and your life. For example:
Your entry must be postmarked by September 1, 1996
The three grand winners will receive a trip to Anaheim, California, October 29-31, 1996, for the Technology 2006 conference. The grand winners and five finalists will receive a NASA Tech Briefs CD-ROM of searchable databases and computer programs. The three winning letters will be printed in their entirety in the December issue of NASA Tech Briefs.
